From its humble tabletop origins, the RPG has grown and evolved over the years into the most dominant and ambitious game genre, boasting a catalog as critically acclaimed as it is diverse. Role-playing games have a long and fascinating history. I would argue the STALKER series is faintly RPGs, but you may wish to check them out and decide. Worth checking out in the future!Īnd a few "for your consideration" suggestions: E.Y.E: Divine Cybermancy, and STALKER. The first System Shock will be getting an Unreal Engine remake soon. Unfortunately I can't personally vouch for any, as I played vanilla many years ago. Like Deus Ex and Vampires, may want to check out the mods. System Shock 2, which inspired the Bioshock series, is a fantastic choice. There is the Deus Ex Revision Mod on Steam, if you can't bear the download times.ĭeux Ex Human Revolution and Mankind Divided are both very good. Unfortunately there does not appear to be any torrent links for the mod, downloading it takes forever. You can download the GMDX mod to bring drag it to the 21st century. The first one is still the best, in my opinion.
